Tuesday, January 21, 2014, 7:45:44 AM- How long can a Mother in Law resent the woman who married her son?
Sister T is already having trouble with her mother in law. I laugh because she really did think it was going to be a walk in the park. Her Mother in Law has never cared for her. This is the same woman who didn't stand up and join in the toast at Sister T's wedding. And the very same woman who (at the birth of her grand babies) told my bro in law that he did a good job....lol. She even wears black at my sisters wedding anniversary parties. This woman still thinks that after 4 kids ranging in ages from 25 to 33, the marriage is going to fail....lol What a loon! After years of abuse from this woman, I was shocked that my sister agreed to move in with her. The mother in law told Sister T that she was not allowed to cook in the kitchen because her son (bro in law) cannot live on my sisters cooking. I give my sister kudos for telling this old bitty "If your son can't live on my food, then where did his 200 pound weight gain come from? You can't gain that much weight on oral sex" Good for T!!! It hasn't even been a week and the claws are out! My money is on the 90 year old woman. Sister T may have age on her and one point so far, but that tiny old woman from Costa Rica has been through hell surviving the leftist guerillas when she was a little girl growing up in her village. I think it would be a good idea to start a bail fund. Some one just may end up getting hurt...lol

Monday, January 20, 2014, 6:33:30 AM- My shoes.
My intended blog has been interrupted to pay homage to a special pair of shoes. These particular shoes have taken me on many adventures. Yesterday they were trekking over boulders, through the bushes and over the red dirt of Point Lobos. Today, they were muddling through the water, sand and the rocks of Lovers Point Bay. As usual, I was caught off guard by the tide. Which is good because the salt water washed away the red dirt stains. The little guys are now drying on the window sill of my apartment. Over the years I lost count as to how many times my feet have been soaked in water or mud. Tonight, I thought about that. As I walked home wearing the water soaked shoes and socks, I realized that these hiking shoes have been through the adventures of 2 states. I bought these shoes in 2008 when I was stationed in Arizona. Their initiation was traveling with me as we scoured through the desert, streams, mountains and pastures. My shoes do not have time to collect spider webs...lol Now, each day, they sit by the door gaining the rest they need in order to conquer the hills, creeks, tide pools, mountains and roads of my tiny bay town. They have been my constant support. These shoes have slipped off of boulders, have been dug deep into the dirt of cliffs, filled with seaweed, covered in sand or cactus needles and constantly stained by red, brown or black dirt. They have been through the ringer! Each time I buy a new pair of tennis shoes, I get my moneys worth. I rely on these hiking shoes to keep me going. I could be doing anything, but if my shoes aren't willing to keep up, they are useless. They are worn and do need to be put to rest because they are on their last leg...or should I say last toe...lol Bye my friend. Thank you for keeping my feet comfy. Silly blog? Maybe to some. Even the smallest of things in our lives should be appreciated.

Sunday, January 19, 2014, 5:25:50 AM- A walk through Point Lobos.
Point Lobos is a spectacular hike. It is a combination of forest trees, plants, breeding grounds, black sand beaches, whale sightings and ocean cliffs. I captured some moments but have decided to wait on posting them. Each time I took a rest, it was beneath the historical pines and oak trees. The sun was high, yet within the shade of the trees, it can be dark. The trees cast ominous shadows and silhouettes in front of the sun. I became intrigued by the way they appeared as haunting and ghostly. I can imagine how the trees would look underneath the moon at night. As I walked, I began to admire the dead trees more than the live ones. I kept walking and occasionally would lose my footing because I was too busy looking at the beauty of the dead trees....lol It is a wonder to me that I found beauty in death and at times this can be true. The character of the trees were extremely pronounced through their death. I captured this silhouette under the sun and have decided to frame it. The dead branches seem to be reaching out for the sun as if it were striving and begging to live again.

Saturday, January 18, 2014, 5:47:48 AM- Wrap up on the week.
*My youngest was asked to assist his professor twice a week in the art class at his college. I'm so proud! *I am an aunt again. Well, a Great Great Aunt (again) *We lost one of our own at work. He was speeding and not wearing a seat belt. As sad as I am for the loss, I can't help but think of how irresponsible that is. *I am still on the mend and can now hear out of both ears...lol. *I was turned down for a position because I was over qualified. Hmm? Too smart? Now that is weird. It still stings though. *Sister M is going back to school for ANOTHER Masters Degree. This would be her 3rd one. Funny, she doesn't use the other two she has now...hahaah *Sister T is moving in with her mom-in-law. Which means more hilarious emails to me and more blogs for you. *I tried taking pics for posting, but just couldn't get into the spirit. Maybe it was the constant coughing as soon as I lay down?..lol *I have a three day weekend!! *Tomorrow I am throwing caution to the wind and going for a walk. I need to get some crisp ocean air into my lungs.

Friday, January 17, 2014, 2:46:10 AM- Too cute and loving
I watched an adorable elderly couple having lunch today. They appeared to be in their 80's or so. They were so tiny and cute. Like little pocket people. They sat just sat there taking glances at one another. It was making me smile. A breeze was blowing and the elderly gent kept moving the hair out of her eyes. It was too cute. Then all of sudden it wasn't cute. As he was brushing the hair from her eyes, she all of a sudden slapped his hand down and yelled "Will you stop doing that! God damn it you are a pain in the ass!" As the gent throws his hands in the air he replies "You can be such a witch sometimes, why do I deal with you?" They finished their lunch and stomped off. The last thing I heard him yell was "If you can't keep up I'm leaving your tired ass at the curb" Why do I want this? ...lol I would love to grow old and cratchedy with a man who brushes the hair out of my eyes.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014, 7:18:04 AM- A small message and a wish for all.
If you are going to bed: Sleep well and dream big. If you are waking up: May you greet the sun and sip your coffee with a smile. Our nights should be spent comfortably knowing that we did our best during the day. Our mornings should be spent looking forward to kicking ass and taking numbers. xoxox

Tuesday, January 14, 2014, 10:19:11 PM- A bike would probably be best.
If a licensed driver cannot parallel park a Smart Car, it would be best if they turned in their DL and admitted defeat. There we were, a line of cars waiting for a Smart Car driver to back up, pull forward, come out, back in, pull pull out, back up several times in order to parallel park. While the driver was navigating the 5th attempt to park, a Range Rover came from behind all of us, sped past the line and parallel parked 3 spaces ahead of the Smart Car driver. The driver of the Range Rover walked past the Smart Car and said "That's the way it's done! Need some lessons?" All I heard from the Smart Car driver was "fuck off" I am in agreement. If you cannot navigate a car smaller than the the size of a small industrial trash bin, you have no business on the road and should ride a bike.
