Gift PremiumOdd yet delightfully intriguing. Morbid yet very very sweet. Sarcasm is part of who I am.....deal with it.

Saturday, February 8, 2014, 5:45:41 PM- It's Lego Saturday!
A few weeks ago a 7 year old girl wrote the Lego Corporation and asked them to make more Lego Kits that had adventures for little girls. To her there were too many boy Lego Sets. She did get a great deal of support and most thought her letter was cute. Then there were Lego Enthusiasts who thought that she should be shown the original Lego Sets. For years the fans of the all mighty Lego Sets had to create things from their own imagination and not from the specialized pieces that they make now. I wonder what she would think of the original sets? This is a castle made from the original Lego Sets. This was considered talent and would probably take hours to build. And now they have complete sets with key pieces. It is kind of like paint by numbers. Look at the box and find the piece. Sometimes, now and then, I wonder if Lego took the imagination out of building and creating.

Saturday, February 8, 2014, 5:22:41 AM- Am I listening?
During our Friday Briefs, I am usually sketching while others are talking. Today as I doodled, I was asked "Are you listening?" Of course I am! As a matter of fact, I listen even more intently. If I stared at a the speaker during our meetings, I would start to drift off and day dream. The thoughts that go through my head when others speak makes me laugh. I was like this during lectures in college or the academy. Well, it is the same thing with doodling or sketching now as we attend department briefs. It is a good thing I don't have my paint brushes at work....lol. This is the outcome of today's brief. I'm not finished with the little green tree frogs. Maybe next Firday..lol

Friday, February 7, 2014, 3:12:21 AM- Double Standards.....lol And what's with the rules?
Over the years, I have asked my sons what they want for their birthdays. They tell me what the want or need and sometimes the answer is cash. Why can't I make the same requests. My sons asked what I wanted for my birthday. I told them I need cash. Their response: I am not giving my Mom money. Okay then, I could use a new robe. Their response: A robe is for when you are in your 80's and we put you in a home. Well, I am out of my favorite perfume. Their response: I don't want to make you smell good for other men to suck in your scent. The other youngest son said that he didn't feel right making me smell sexy... lol ^^^^^^ lol ^^^^^^^^ Double standards I tell ya!!! So I asked for what always puts a smile on my face. One of their sketches or paintings on a card.

Monday, February 3, 2014, 4:35:24 AM- Over the miles, comfort and love is given.
The loss of a child is never forgotten. The love for the child remains until the parents beating heart no longer beats. My niece called. She was having crying fits because she came across her sons (my great nephews) ball cap in a box. About 30 years ago, my great nephew died in an apartment fire. Little James was just 5 years old when he died. My niece then began having flashbacks of that day. While many were trying to get in the front door, his Pa Pa (Grandpa) tried to save him through the bedroom window and nearly severed the arteries in his arms breaking through the glass to try and save James. It was one thing to know that James was inside, but everyone who was around, heard James yelling and crying for his Pa Pa to help him. My brother in law was never the same after his first grandsons death. They were inseparable. James was his first grandson and my brother in law wanted to make sure he didn't grow up with a stranger babysitting him. So my bro in law took him to work every day to the tow truck company. Since my bro in law owned it, it was easy to do. For 5 years, Little James was by his Pa Pa's side. Lil J had his own plastic tools and even carried a lunchbox that matched my bro in laws. It was a match made in heaven. They both wore the same t-shirt and ball cap with the company logo on it. When an employee would ask for the boss's signature, my bro in law would let Lil J scribble on the sheet. It was the cutest thing in the world! After Lil J died, my bro in law sold his shop. He just couldn't handle the thought of being in the company truck and not seeing his side kick in the car seat next to him. Now I know that every grandchild is a gift and my bro in law had many after James died, but he still wasn't the same. I guess no amount of love from others can erase the memory of not being the hero that he thought he was to Lil J. I am glad that my niece called me. During the times she remembers that day, she shuts down. It was nice to comfort each other. Even over the phone, comfort is felt and so is love.

Saturday, February 1, 2014, 5:11:42 AM- Things I learned this week.
1. Dark blue and black slip on loafers look identical in the dark. Be careful with this, you might wear them for an hour at work before someone brings attention to it. 2. Don't eat an ice cream cone on a windy day without your hair being pulled back. I should have remembered that since I used to have long hair. I had to learn it all over again now that I am letting my hair grow. 3. Before you shake up and orange juice container, make sure you remembered that you took the lid off of it. 4. Try not to stand under high phone wires that birds like to sit on. They don't care that you are underneath them as they unload their lunch. 5. I was watching a commercial about potatoes and after all of these years I learned that the Ore-Ida Brand of taters is a combination of Oregon and Idaho...lol. I don't even eat them but how did I not see that? 6. Discussing penis shapes in status will give you some wild dreams. 7. Justin Beiber is a bigger douche bag sucker than I thought. 8. Taylor Swift should not try to look cool and attempt any type of rock-n-roll head banging technique. *rolls eyes* 9. The place where I bought my cow socks also sells Bull Socks...yay! 10. That NN Support ruled this week and were on their toes!! YAY! What did you learn this week?

Friday, January 31, 2014, 7:03:34 AM- Why and when did they allow this?
Dogs in restaurants? Oh, I know that it has been going on for a while now. But why? It is so unsanitary. I don't care for a dog to be in a department store or grocery store, but I am absolutely disgusted by them in restaurants. I am a devout dog loving human. Dogs rule! But I draw the line at some strange dog sitting next to the table where I am eating. He was scratching his fleas and doing the ever so popular shaking his body and throwing hair all over the place. It irked me so much that I asked for my money back and left. Did I over react? Hell no!

Thursday, January 30, 2014, 5:24:06 AM- Hmm? This is bad math.
Sister M + Sister V + Sister T + Oregon = A natural disaster of epic proportions. Sister T is considering moving to Oregon to be with the other sisters. Maybe this is a good thing? While crossing the streets they could help one another. Sister M can remind Sister T to push the button and not walk out into traffic. Sister V can remind Sister M to be careful stepping off of the curb and Sister T can tell V to not stop in the middle of the street and argue with drivers who honk their horns. Or maybe, hopefully they just decide to take the bus and get off at the right stop. Those poor Oregonians. They might have to run for their lives.
