Saturday, August 23, 2008, 5:51:36 AM- Oh boo hoo
poor you!! NN isnt the same as it was when you arrived. Thank god! I miss the "good ol days" We will always remeber what we first encountered with fondness. Realistically would you want it to stay the same? I think that would be pretty damn boring. NN like any and everything else in your life is what you chose to make it. It has changed and will continue to grow and change, the question is are you up for the challenge? If you cannot say yes then I bid you adieu. It was nice knowing you but I too get sick of the same conversation each time we have a beer together. I prefer stimulus. There is something to be said for comfort and there is even more to be said for going outside the comfort zone. Sick and tired of all the whining, ju

Thursday, August 21, 2008, 2:59:37 AM- consider yourselves lucky i got distracted
I had several blogs I was ready to hit enter on tonight. Each time I was called away for a different reason. I was going to blog about racism and would still like to add my billion cents worth there. Then I was going to blog about peanut butter. Not only is there a diff between smooth and crunchy but there is the debate between natural and processed. There is also the debate, at which age your kids are adults and able to make their own choices? I guess you should consider your selves lucky that I am not more focused. All over the place, ju

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 12:29:47 AM- The goal is
To have this place spotless by the time I start school. We started at the bottom today and tackled the garage. It is really amazing the stuff you hang onto. We got rid of a ton of it. It had been 2 years since we tackled it last and man what a pile of crap we accumulated. There was also stuff we had been hanging onto cause it was supposed come in handy some day. Well it hadn't in the last 2 years so out it went! The rest of the house will be much easier. It is just a matter of tidying up etc. It feels good to get a job like that done but man I need a massage! Tired and a little sore, ju

Thursday, August 14, 2008, 9:52:58 PM- I am so excited!!
Remember my sitter dilemma (previous blog). I have it solved and I am super happy with the solution! I called the respite place today, I had been putting it off hoping another solution would happen along but it didn't, so I finally made the call and as luck would have it had to leave a message. About 5 mins later it came to me to ask my next door neighbour if he would do it. He works for himself, so the hrs aren't an issue. The kids love him and I trust him. I just came back from his place and it's a go for Sept!! I don't have to worry about a stranger with my son. I don't have to worry about a stranger locking my house up. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders!! Happy, happy, happy!!! ju

Saturday, August 9, 2008, 12:26:51 AM- Back to the drawing board
I had a sitter all lined up for the fall. Today she told me they were given an offer they can't refuse and are going to be moving on Sept 1. Now I have to scramble to get something in place. I really only need someone for about half an hr a day, you would think that would be easy but it isn't. In order to get the funding for this I have to have someone over 18 and they have to be close because the bus picks him up here. I guess I will have to contact respite agencies now but I am not really thrilled with that idea unless I can get them to lock up and give him the house key to take to school with him and hope he doesn't loose it. Looking at one more hurdle to overcome, ju

Thursday, August 7, 2008, 1:55:11 AM- Wasn't that a party
Hi Ju Well I won't do that again! I'm not proud or amused with my state last night but happy that through all my alcoholic haze I had the sense not to argue about the fact that I was in no shape to drive home. In hindsight I should've gotten to to call me a cab - I know "you're a cab" instead of wandering off, falling asleep on the sidewalk and some some unkown reason winding up in the creek with an ambulance picking me up and taking me to emerg. It was some experience. I remember being woken up by a guy on the sidewalk and I have no recollection until I fell into the creek and somehow the ambulance showed up. I may have been found by a cop passed out along the creek. Lucky I didn't drown. I can't understand how so much time passed by from leaving your place to becoming somewhat with it when they put me into the ambulance with two hours spent waiting in the hospital room until I finally said to them I'm going home. I don't think there was any intention of the medical staff to help me other than to let me sit and get sober. They did pop in every now and then and when I asked for a glass of water it even came with ice - in a plastic cup of course. See you tomorrow. C We had a ton of fun and agreed even before he left last night (at 11pm) that we will leave him out of our next get together. Big sigh, ju

Saturday, August 2, 2008, 9:30:04 PM- I haven't done a food blog in awhile
But I found a new marinade and it is just as yummy on pork as it is on chicken. The meat can be stir fried, grilled or done in the oven and is still just as good. Tonight it was stir fry. ![]() For this I used chicken marinaded in 3 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp dijon mustard and chopped garlic for a few hrs. I did the veggies first, then added the chicken WITH the marinade. While that was cooking I made the noodles, they are instant just put in a pot of boiling water for a minute. Stir the noodles in with the meat and veggies and top with some sesame seeds. The veggies I used tonight were baby carrots, spinach, zuchinni, mushrooms, green pepper, cauliflower and red onion. It is healthy, fast and best of all delicious! Enjoy, ju

Thursday, July 31, 2008, 8:07:27 PM- My new addicition!!
My sis was getting a litle bored online so I suggested she "travel" the world and told her that many cities etc even have web cams. Well you have to know my sis to know that she is a lil obsessive and took things further. I am now addicted to watching a big rig cam. Nothing very exciting happens but it's like sitting in the cab of the truck going down the road. It is strangely addictive and I almost always have his cam on in the corner of my screen. Now I have found an airport web cam ffs. That one sits in another corner and allows me to see planes take off land and taxi around. I just wish it was a busier airport. I can't help but wonder how long I will be addicted to these but for now I am having fun. Sidetracked, ju
