We had a ton of snow today. My son and I shovelled 3 times pushing the snow out into the laneway. We are at the end so just leaving it for the plow is no big deal. At this point you have to know a bit about my son. He loves "workers" especially workers with machines. He is always out immitating the ones he sees. He has all the equipment and outfits for any job. He has been offered rides with the snow plow guy and was even offered a ride up in a cherry picker with a hydro guy. The police, fire and ambulance love to watch him while they are near by doing their jobs. He works right along with them. Today we had a ton of snow. A fantastic storm that pretty much insures we will have a white Christmas. The snow plow guys just came. Naturally he had to watch them. They did several passes by our place clearing out the laneway. What gave me the biggest grin was when he came into our driveway as we watched together and dragged out the remainder of the pile my son and I had shovelled and then plowed it along with the rest. He didn't have to do that but he inspired a lil "worker" and I appreciate like there is no tomorrow not having to clear that up. It really is the little things that take virtually no time and minimal effort that are so much appreciated. Content, ju

Do you know me? Really do you know me? You may think you do but have you ever asked and really wanted the answer? Have you ever really listened? Chances are you never have. You have your idea about who you want me to be. You like that I am supportive of you. You like that I have the answers you may or may not want to hear. When I ask how you are you will always tell me in great detail but if I say I am ok, or okish, or not so great you chose not to ask me what is going on. It matters not because you have the support you came looking for. I had a fabulous conversation with a very dear friend tonight and even he was suprised. I am not blogging this in hopes of sympathy, if you don't know me by now you never will. "You" is not specific at all. an observer of the human condition, ju

everything gone, no insurance. Ginoz sister lost everything yesterday. It was their childhood home, all of their keep sakes, gone. I feel so helpless, I wish there was something I could do. Thank god she escaped with only minor injuries. The cosmos can be so cruel. ju

Live well below the poverty line in this country, but I have a fridge, a closet, a bed and a roof over my head. http://www.miniature-earth.com/me_english.htm My nephew showed this to me. It was something he was shown in school. All who can read this are one of 3 in 100 who have an internet connection. Shocked, ju

Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 12:14:34 AM- NN friends
I wish it was more user friendly. I pretty much add anyone who asks, the nature of the site being what it is I figure if random people ask to be a friend it is because they want to keep track of my pics etc. I am not picky in that way. As I was going thru some recent pics I was lamenting that I can't share them here. They are totally inappropriate for the site but something I would love to share with some of you. Wouldn't it be great to blog to an approved list of members only? Being allowed to chose who can view your blogs and the pics posted within rather than worry about the internet masses. Some blogs for sure would remain public but there are definitely times when it would be nice to select who you want to see. I don't mean that to exclude people but some things are just not appropriate for the general public so this would be a way to keep friends, real friends, up to date. Sure I could take it off the site but that isn't the point. I want to stay here and share with my NN friends. I just want to be able to select who can see what at any given time. I am thinking this would be a very nice Christmas present from the NN team to us all. ju

Friday, December 5, 2008, 4:53:49 AM- Sometimes
You need time to shed a few tears so that you can move on with more strength and resolve. Sometimes you cry for yourself, actually being honest you always cry for yourself, for the loss YOU are facing. If you are honest with yourself and recognize the tears as a cleansing thing then you can move on to be strong for another. I made a promise and intend to keep it to the best of my ability. Still sad but smiling big, ju

Thursday, December 4, 2008, 1:37:31 AM- Melancholy
Quick definitions (melancholy) ▸ noun: a feeling of thoughtful sadness ▸ noun: a constitutional tendency to be gloomy and depressed ▸ noun: a humor that was once believed to be secreted by the kidneys or spleen and to cause sadness and melancholy ▸ adjective: characterized by or causing or expressing sadness ("Growing more melancholy every hour" Tis the season and no it isn't the forth coming holidays, those will lift me out of this state. It is the short, gloomy, dreary days. The cold rain. The lack of any expectation between now and the holiday season. It will strike again doubly hard in the new year unless it gets cold enough that clouds do not form and we get brilliant sunshine. I do love snow but I can not handle the grey damp days this time of year is all about. We are approaching the longest night or the shortest day depending how you chose to see things. It is ironic to me that leading up to the longest night is the gloomiest weather of the year. As the days get longer we endure the coldest days of the year and they are the ones that energize me because of the brilliant sunshine. Seriously affected by the lack of sunshine but knowing this too shall pass, ju

Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 2:28:24 AM- I am tired
Oh so very tired. If it hasn't been one thing it has been another! If I didn't have a stalker I would explain it all. I really need 24 hrs to myself, a chance to just be. It won't be happening. If you have a cup of peace of mind to spare I would be eternally gratefull, ju

Monday, December 1, 2008, 11:25:04 PM- Maturity
It is something that has been discussed endlessly around here lately. There have been thoughts of rooms by age etc. After much thought I don't think that would solve anything. Maturity isn't an issue of years lived, it is a mindset. What we really need is a place for people who have moved beyond the childish notion that they should be the center of attention. The childish behaviour of oooooooh look at me, has worn very thin for many members. Contrary to your beliefs, others have been there, done that, bought the t shirt and most importantly learned from it. Real maturity sets in when you can recognize that others experiences that while not exactly the same certainly provide insight into many things going on around them. Hoping a day that I don't learn something new never comes, ju
