Monday, February 22, 2010, 3:56:43 AM- A total lack of respect
I had a few friendly bets going with people I know well and respect. When I lost the bets I went in to chat to congratulate the winners. Congrats USA a very well played game! It was accepted gracefully by most but one total fuck head. ~Smoke~ decided to take this opportunity to show his total ignorance of other countries. His bullshit seems to know no bounds. Instead of gracefully accepting the congrats he decided to show his total ignorance and belittle that which he has no knowledge of. I took the high road and unfortunately he showed exactly WHY Americans aren't generally accepted world wide. The false arrogance, the inability to understand and appreciate other cultures For all of my American friends, I appologize for making such sweeping generalizations but I was xxxxxx to by one twat who thinks he is better than the rest of the world and does so under the guise of his nationality. I know believe me, you aren't all the same. A very proud Canadian who happens to love all of our simlarities and differences, ju

Thursday, February 18, 2010, 1:50:59 AM- Yeah what the hell
I came home today and we had the usual chatter and then my daughter says to me "Mom, you will never guess what I did today" I looked at her quizzically and she said "I joined the mountain biking team" At this point I started to laugh and then she went on to explain that her best friend wanted to do it and dragged her along. Now apparently there are only 4 people on this mountain biking team, my daughter being one just because she showed up. So the coach was going on and on and was even looking at the girls saying that generally they do quite well because not many compete etc. This is where it gets funny. The coach then asked who has a bike? She said well I don't. So he asked her what she was doing there. She shrugged and said SHE made me come, pointing to her friend. At this point I am practically rolling on the floor picturing the coaches face as my daughter ever so calmly explained herself. Apparently it has been sorted, she will borrow her friends sisters bike. So then I asked her do you even have a helmet that fits you? She shrugged laughed a bit and says I have no idea. I was losing it laughing and my next question was when does practise start? She said today but we didn't know you need bikes! By now I am rolling and I said when is your next practice? She said Monday. At this point I have totally lost it and said and how are you going to practise in the winter without a bike and a helmet?? She informed me that that was easy, there are 10 excersise bikes in the fitness room. At this point I had tears running down my face and said I guess we dont need to worry about getting you a helmet right away! I really can't wait to see how this season pans out and if she loves it and ends up in the Olympics some day I am def going to tell this story! Details? what details? laughing still, ju

Monday, February 15, 2010, 5:30:10 AM- Our first gold
is of course a special moment but what was really special is our gold medalists relationship with his brother. As a Mom with a child who has CP the reactions of the whole family brought me to tears. The sheer joy on his brothers face was something I will never forget. The joy on my sons face when he achieves his persoal bests are oh so similar. Olympic glory can be achieved on a daily basis. Too bad they don't award medals for it. Competing and winning at your own life will always mean more than organized games, ju

Saturday, February 13, 2010, 6:12:56 AM- I watched it live
at the time there was no idea of the outcome. Several hours later we knew, he didn't make it. I am incredibly sad for a dream taken away but at least he went doing what he loved. I now feel for those that must follow him down that track and wish then a safe journey. I simply cannot imagine being the first one down. Passionate but to the death? Very somber, ju

Thursday, February 11, 2010, 1:02:20 AM- The conversation went something like this
k2 - why do twins have the same birthday? me - because they were concieved at the same time and born at the same time k2 - So were me and k1 born at the same time? me - no because you weren't conceived at the same time k2 - so she was first? me - yes k2 - is that because she was on the bottom? Now I know at a certain age it is impossible to think that your siblings existed before you did but I think I have some clarifying to do here. Humming and singing like the birds and the bees. ju

Saturday, February 6, 2010, 4:19:20 AM- ASS
umptions. If you ASSume people are talking about you even if they arent't they probably should be. If you ASSume that people on NN talk about sex 24/7 you are no doubt going to be disappointed. That is what drew us here but isn't what kept us here. ASSuming every new person that arrives is a total idiot because they are looking for sex closes doors. You may, with an open mind meet some really incredible people. ASSuming you are superior because you have been here longer and know the so called ropes makes you look like an idiot if you aren't flexible enough to take into account differences and remembering what attracted and kept you here. ASS U ME, yep read it again. I would like to ASS U ME we are all adults but lately have my doubts. ju

Sunday, January 24, 2010, 9:41:43 PM- 444
So many have asked about it so I will try to offer an explanation. There is a lot here that is outside my realm of familiarity but hey, it seems positive so I am going to go with it. Friday night I had a dream. I don't remember all the details but there was something that totally stuck out. There was a piece of paper with 444 printed on it. It wasn't small, infact it was very vibrant and the only thing I remembered of the dream. Unable to make any real sense of it I decided to buy a lottery ticket, a pick 3 using the numbers 444. I won nothing but was relating the story to cas and cas being cas had to do some investigating. She was copy and pasting some of the info she had found to me. I have been unable to find the exact site she was using but have found a ton of sites related to that bizzarre number sequence. Q. What does the number 444 mean? A. A long period of paying attention to details and building for the future is about to pay off. If the payoff is rejected or pooh-poohed (which could be an instinctive reaction, considering the law of inertia), the long period hard work may be continued past the point of the accomplishment of its purpose, which would be a dead end. 444 is a good number. Recognize the accomplishment of the purpose of your prior work and enjoy the new tangent your life has taken. 444 — Thousands of angels surround you at this moment, loving and supporting you. You have a very strong and clear connection with the angelic realm, and are an Earth angel yourself. You have nothing to fear—all is well. After that hindsight came into play. During 2 bus trips in one day I found 2 twoonies ($4) and the course I had been taking for the last 3 weeks was series 44. Considering my seeming inertia for a long time and the new hope of this course, my total unfamiliarity with anything to do with numerology and angels the sequence of numbers was incredibly odd. It all sounds positive and that is where my mind was anyway so I am going to go with it. Enjoying the positive energy, ju edit Let me get a lil stranger, it was pointed out to me my son was born on 4/4. Having dealt with his disability this just brings a little more meaning to the message. Perhaps there is a reason after all...

Sunday, January 24, 2010, 4:14:32 AM- The big picture
Is the most difficult one to see. We all get wrapped up in our own reality and forget there is somthing bigger that needs consideration. Take from that what you will, 444 is someting I had no idea about but bears much consideration. ju
