Saturday, August 27, 2016, 10:19:34 PM- Now we know.
Last Sunday, I turned 64. Besides the obvious musical reference to the Fab Four (and if you don't know who I'm referring to, then you're just too young and need to move along, please. lol), I've now come to the stage of my life where acceptance of my limitations is crucial to growing as an adult. I don't run any more. Now I walk. Actually, I walk more on my job five days a week than most people do in a month. I am always carrying something or pushing something for a good six of the eight hours I work each day. It does keep me in relatively good shape. I don't huff or puff yet, so all is good there. I don't over-indulge any more. Chief example of this would be my not frequenting bars any more. Whenever I want to have a drink, I do it at home. Gone are the usual drink-drive worries, and when I've had my fill, I simply stop. Over-indulgence also applies to eating, time on the internet and watching television. I'd rather sit with an interesting book or to take a leisurely walk instead. The human imagination can be quite entertaining and I feel there's not enough time to see things and learn things. My sole acceptance of my now senior years is what I did this week: I applied for Social Security. I wanted to wait until I fully retired at age 66, but, I thought, what the Hell? Life is too short to wait, and applying two years early will give me the chance to supplement my income to the degree that I can pay off my debts and even save some money for all of the trips I've wanted to take... like going to England and even going to California to spend quality time with my sister and her family. Time will tell how many more changes I will meet in the coming years. All I know is that change is inevitable, hence the old saying: The only thing about life that doesn't change is change. My own personal journey through life is at another level right now. Who knows what tomorrow will bring? But, I'm not running frightened. I'm facing life head on! Peace! ~

I was just a boy of 17 when this wonderful song was released in 1969. And now, as of Sunday I will turn 64 and this song has a deeper, more personal meaning to me than it ever did before. Yes, I'm at the stage where I'm reflecting on my life. I am glad and indeed feel blessed I've made it this far. ~

Sunday, August 14, 2016, 11:56:46 PM- A tribute to Kandi
Back when 2 and a Half Men was still funny, there was a character named Kandi, who played the dumb broad role to the hilt: I miss her.

....positive! Too much time and energy is being devoted to fear and death in the news. Look around you - do you see hate on your doorstep? Or do you see people who will smile when you smile, who will chat with you about the positive things going on in the world? Don't succumb to hate. Drive it out of your world with love and peace. Oh, to have a real love train traveling around the globe promoting peace and love for your fellow man! C'mon, people! Let's start the joy right now... get up, smile and dance with me!!! Love, love, LOVE is what we all need. ~

Sunday, July 31, 2016, 9:46:16 PM- Sunday...
... my semi-lazy day. No work today, of course. I started the day with a light breakfast, then did a bit of yoga before working with some hand weights. Next, I cleaned my place... dusting, sweeping and cleaning the bathroom and kitchen floors. A light lunch, then check email, the local newspaper and the Sunday funnies online. Posted a few witty things on Facebook before a quick run through NN and, of course, posting this blog. Time to make a quick pit stop for petrol, then take a drive through town. Later, I'll scan some "arty pics" on the 'net, then shower before I fix dinner... homemade pizza tonight, ice cream (chocolate) for dessert. After dishes are done, it's t.v. time! Preacher on AMC, The Night of on HBO and Ray Donovan on Showtime. Thank God for DVR's. lol Finally, a movie. A classic western from 1971: McCabe and Mrs. Miller, starring Warren Beatty and Julie Christie. A great day today and a great night to come... life is GRAND! ~

One little quick blog yesterday and I am back on the list. This explains why Tight_Wet_Lips is no longer at the top (or even listed) any more. ~

Seems that if you don't post any blogs for over a week, your name disappears from the most blogs list. Maybe this will rectify the situation?
