My parents may come down for easter.
That is enough to get me to have a good look around.
I started with the walls in the high traffic areas, anyone who has kids knows why walls have to be cleaned.
Then the fridge caught my attention. Since it is nearly empty it was a good time to clean that out. On to the microwave. I am not sure what the kids have been cooking in there but I will have to teach them what lids are for.
I left the most tedious and strenuous job for last. The kitchen floor. I would KILL for a no wax floor. I have gone over it once with the wax stripper, it is clean but there is still lots of wax on it, ugh. My arm is sore from scrubbing and my ass is sore from getting up and down a billion times. It will do for now.
I just need a nice day to get the windows clean and I will be well on my way to having my spring cleaning done ahead of schedule!

It has been snowing all day and hasn't let up.
Kid 1 went out to the Madarin for a friends birthday dinner.
Reservations were for 5.
It is 8:26 now.
The roads are barely visible.
How long could it possibly take 10 15 year olds to wolf down some chinese food?

I don't do it often and most likely there are very few of you who have ever seen it.
To preserve my own sanity right now I can't care what is going on with you. I only have the emotional capacity to worry about me and mine.

at maggies and lovitt thinking if I ran a restaurant up north that I would be able to enjoy the solitude of winter. You have shown your real southern selves.
You have to realize the only down time here is between frost and the first snowfall, and at the other end of the season between the ice going out and the last frost.
You totally forgot about the snowmobilers, cross country skiers, snowshoers and the ice fishing ppl.
Canucks never learned to hibernate, I think it is a survival thing.
Having said that I don't give a shit about frost but damnit! It's time the ice went out!

I would like to live in the middle of Saskatchewan where my closest neighbours would be a hundred kms away.
I still desire that kind of isolation but I am rethinking Sask. I am so sick of seeing snow, snow and more snow that I am realizing grassland, grassland and more grassland would drive me bonkers too.
I am now thinking an old caboose on an abandoned rail line on the side of a hill over looking a lake is more to my liking.
If you know where I can get one for $20 let me know.

when people think what is going on here is as important as real life and it even further amazes me when it is assumed I am as involved as they are.
I like to have a laugh like anyone else but believe me when I say there are far more important things going on in this world.
