I had to take a hike today to sign my daughter up for her standard first aid course. The easiest and prettiest way to get there is on the bike path. I took my camera because I usually get some really pretty pics along the way.
Today I was either feeling brave or stupid and decided to attempt some NN style pics too.
Now the first thing is there aren't a lot of places to set the camera down, so my locations were chosen by the availability of a make shift tripod. The first pic I took was blurry, so tried again, this one came out clear but just as I was picking the cam up off a log a guy was walking past. Close call but did I learn? Hell no!!! (will post that one in a bit)
All the way down I was scouting locations so on my way back I had a few ideas. Most of the time there were people around so I just kept going. Eventually I came across a smaller path that looked fairly isolated. I was JUST about to take my shirt off when old guy walks past. Wait a min and attempt again. (Got one that is now posted)
Now 3rd try has to be a charm right?
Not with my luck, found a really nice and isolated location. There were a few big logs blocking the path so I figured no one would come upon me fast on a bike. I got the cam set up on one of the logs, set the timer, got my shorts down and FFS!! Over exhuberant jogger guy comes around the corner!! I had just sort of got my shorts up in a total panic as he passed me.

He was gone by the time the cam went off and prolly thought I was taking a pee or something, not pics, I don't think he saw the cam.
Next time I decide to take outdoor pics I need TWO helpers, a photographer AND a look out!

Over the years I have had many people tell me I look very much like the NN logo. My most recent pic really lent itself to a comparison.

We are going back up at the end of Sept. when the leaves will be absolutely gorgeous and we MIGHT still be able to get in the water, if not, we can be on the water.
Right now I am wishing I could just dive in and swim until it is time to start the fire,

We had a blast!! Not one of us escaped injury so you know it was a good time The girls had to be rescued not once but twice for sinking the paddle boat!! I am covered in insect bites and have a few rope burns (I did an on golden pond kind of entry into the lake, completely missing the boat)I will go through my pics later and see if there is anything I can actually post in my blog.

We were supposed to leave yesterday but plans change and in this case for the better. We are now leaving tomorrow around noon give or take and staying untill Mon.
I have piles everywhere. I haven't done this is several years so am a tad out of practice but I think we have enough food to feed an army. We won't need much in the way of clothes because it is going to be in the 40's C with the humidex so bathing suits and something to chaange into when we feel like we are getting crotch rot is about it It is a cottage and not camping so at least I don't have to worry about sleeping bags, pillows and all that sort of stuff.
Just get me on the road now, I need several hours and several beers and prolly several swims before I even think about making dinner.
For all intents and purposes I am outta here!!

to enjoy this weather (45c with humidity) but I can't. I am barricaded in the house with the AC on. I was having a chuckle at Great White Sharks blog about how cold he was with his -1.7c temps. I will gladly trade him, to me that is a nice fall day.
I have always said I would rather be cold than hot so lets make a deal.
I will cope with the -40c temps if you keep your +40c temps far, far away from me.
