Tuesday, February 3, 2015, 7:14:43 PM- Yoyo, but...
The mercury continues to bounce here in the mid-west... 30's one day, teens the next, back to the 30's again. At times like these I only go outside when I have to, which is to go to work or the grocery.
I had both of my hands frost-bitten back in the 80's when I was a meter reader for the electric company. When the temperature drops below 40, they start to grow numb when exposed to the air, and in weather like this they begin to ache.
This weekend will be a good time to catch up on t.v. shows recorded and to watch some movies. I have ATT Uverse, and twice a year they give me a free movie. This time it was a no-brainer... Fury, starring Brad Pitt was just released. I will be watching. My friends that have seen the movie say that it is excellent... rating up there with two of my favorite WWII movies/shows: Saving Private Ryan and the HBO mini series Band of Brothers.
My favorite time period in history. I can hardly wait!

Monday, February 2, 2015, 6:57:59 PM- Rub it in
I live in Indiana, where almost everyone is a Colts football fan. In 2006 I heard a lot of hateful things when my team, the Chicago Bears, played the Colts in the Super Bowl. For the past two weeks I have heard that same hatred directed towards the New England Patriots. I'm glad that they won this years' Super Bowl. I would love to go around to all of these haters and rub it in their face, but I played a lot of different sports growing up (especially baseball) and I was taught not to gloat or brag when you win... to shake the other guys hand and say good game.
Too bad these bad sports won't read this blog today. Deep down? I hope they feel bad about themselves and would learn from their disappointment, but (sighs) I know that will not happen.
Congratulations, New England! From a fan's stand point, this was a great game to watch.

Saturday, January 31, 2015, 11:22:19 PM- Ha!
Local weather girl pops up on the t.v. and says (I'm not kidding): "5 to 9 inches coming your way tonight... are you prepared?". How many women (and probably some men) would like to hear that?
