It's what you say when someone misses your point.
Examples:
No matter what you've said, someone has to try to top you. "Yeah, that's great, but this is better."
When you express an opinion (and I always start by saying "This is just my opinion"
and a person will say "you're wrong", then give another (their) opinion, which I'm sure they believe is gold. It's like they're trying to bait you into an argument.
My opinions are just that. If you agree with me that's great. If not, all the persuading in the world will not change my opinion, so why waste my time and your energy trying?
And the real amateurs will further try to goad you into an argument by berating you if you don't agree with them.
When I'm in public, a lot of people lose interest in talking with me because I change the subject a lot. I think you can figure out why.
I'm not the smartest guy in the world (although I do have an I.Q. of 155). I try to look at both sides of something before making up my mind. Too bad so many people simply go by whatever their friends like.
