No sooner do I fix my printer problem, then I find out that in January 2020, Windows will no longer support Windows 7. So today I bought another refurbished computer with Windows 10.
Let's see which lasts longer, the 10 or the 'puter.

I needed to print a document Sunday, so I turned on the printer and put paper in the loading tray. I then called up the document from my files and hit print.
Nothing happened.
I really needed a hard copy of said document, so I tried to get the printer to work.
Nothing worked.
So I went to the web site and downloaded all new drivers that I needed and thought: No I've gotcha!
It still didn't work.
Thoroughly perplexed, I sat and wondered what else I could do and then it hit me...
I checked the connections and sure enough, it was a loose connection from the computer.
Feeling a bit silly, I re-connected the printer and
It worked.
As with cars, whenever something goes wrong, always start at the easiest solution first.
Lesson RElearned.

Always loved this song:
There was a time when people had morals. One of the things you did in my day as a guy was to ask another guy who had broken up with his girlfriend if it was okay to ask her out.
Long story short(er): When my gf and I had taken a break (way back in 197, part of the problem was deciding what to do because I had gotten her pregnant. I wanted to get married and she wasn't sure if she wanted to have the baby or not. A friend (?) I'd had for 12 years got her drunk and slept with her. This was a guy with a weasel reputation and I told her if she ever slept with him I'd never see her again. So she didn't tell me she was going to keep the baby and married the guy.
Lot's and lots of pain... I lost 30 lbs. in a month and was pretty much drunk the whole time after I found out.
Yes, I can see and share the anger of this song.
Oh, yeah - I was never allowed to see the baby before they moved away. To Alaska.

Before I woke up this morning, I was having the best dream I've had in a long time.
I had met the love of my life as a young man, someone I've never seen before.
Our life unfolded in flashes as the years went by: Having a family, traveling, living in a huge old house.
The last image I saw was of us as an old couple lying in bed, talking about how wonderful our life had been and how we would carry on our love in the next life.
I woke up smiling today.
I went to a dream-interpretation site for fun to see what someone might make of this dream.
It said that my expectations were unrealistically romantic.
At my age, living alone, I don't see a problem with that.
In my opinion, if you stop dreaming you will wither and die.

Wednesday, October 2, 2019, 7:03:15 PM- I wouldn't have believed it...
... if I hadn't heard it with my own two ears.
Overheard outside a conference room:
Person #1. "Our productivity has fallen way off."
Person #2. "We'll just have to keep having meetings until we figure it out, then."
You know, people get paid to write this kind of comedy.

Tuesday, October 1, 2019, 7:16:01 PM- Attitudes
50 years ago, when I was a teenager, it was the late 1960s. Adults then complained about our hair, our clothes, our music and our attitude. They also thought we watched too much t.v., so occasionally they would turn it off and make us do something else - preferably outdoors.
Today I hear the same complaints from adults about the kids now. Video games and cell phones have replaced the t.v., that's all.
Can today's adults turn off the distractions and make their kids do something else?
