Saturday, September 22, 2018, 7:39:33 PM- 2 Things on my mind
1. Notre Dame has a footbal player with the last name Love. During the game, Love received a penalty for running into the kicker. Maybe it's just my sense of humor, but the commentator's remark on the replay made me smile: "There's Love in the air." 2. I have an inner ear infection, which in adults (especially older one's like me) can cause nausea and dizziness. I got tired of the dizziness (I'm over the nausea) and looked up home remedies on the internet. One solution is to put a few drops oof hydrogen peroxide in your ear for a littlewhile, then flush with warm water. I tried it and immediately felt popping sensations in my ear. For now, my dizziness has passed. I will try this again later... better safe than sorry, eh? ~

Thank God for the internet, where seemingly normal people can let out their hatred and bias without much fear of repercussions. ~

"there was a virus goin' round, Papa caught it and he died last spring." - Ode to Billy Joe Yeah, I caught a virus last weekend. Monday, I was in bed all day long. Tuesday until late in the evening. Dizziness and nausea. I've had it before, several years ago. I don't know what it's called, but trust me... you don't want to get it. Hard to sleep, can't eat, can't do much of anything except suffer through. Wednesday I went back to work and I was drained physically by the time I headed home. Luckily, my appitite is back and I don't get dizzy much now. I'm hoping this is running it's course to an ending. I'll be glad when I'm completely normal in body again! ~

Last night I dreamed everthing was backwards, like a Bizzaro world. When I woke up, for comfort I looked at the alarm clock to make sure the numbers read right. Sometimes ya just gotta make sure.

Another item, even if it's a small one, checked off my bucket list. My Dad wore, for years, a wrist watch that had a twist-o-flex watchband. Most of you will probably have to Google it to find out what I'm talking about. Somehow it disappeared when he passed away. On Amazon, I found a Speigel watch with the watchband I was looking for. Easy-peasy, just click and it comes to my door. Happy Day, right? Well, I forgot about my small wrists that I inherited from my Dad. The band was too big! Dissapointed, but not giving up, I took it in today to a local jewelry shop. It took the man about five minutes to take out a section of the band and now it fits like a glove. I'm so happy that I keep looking at the watch every few minutes. NOW I can proudly say: HAPPY DAY!

Friday, September 14, 2018, 7:22:48 PM- Hmmm...
People over the years have told me I look like a teacher or a police detective. Maybe it's the way I talk in public, trying not to sound like the rest of the southerners that live around me. Or, more likely, I remind people of someone that they know. Last night (again) being a teacher invaded my dreams. Cosmicly speaking, maybe I missed my calling? ~

My computer, like other things in my life, doesn't pay attention to me. I've set my computer to install updates at 3:00 am, but yesterday at 2:00 pm, my computer shut down (in the middle of paying bills). It came back on a minute later with the message: Installing Windows updates". Maybe the clock is on the fritz??? ~

Wednesday, September 12, 2018, 6:47:38 PM- Old injuries never...
... completely go away. I strained my wrist at work last night. Old baseball injury. I can't remember specifically if it was from sliding, getting hit by a pitch, diving for the ball or running into a wall trying to catch a fly ball. Obviously it had happened more than once. I can't find my wrist brace, so I'll have to forgo workouts for a few days. Luckily, that won't stop me from my yoga. It's a good thing I'm ambidextrous.

Monday, September 10, 2018, 7:10:28 PM- Time travel... kinda (update)
There he stood. To say he hadn't changed would be a lie. His beard is now grey, there were lines and creases on his face and he wore a hat to cover his bald pate. But his voice and laugh were just as I remembered. We shook hands, then hugged. Growing up, guys never hugged, it just wasn't macho. It seems we've both overcome that bit of childhood idiocy. We walked the streets of the town we grew up in, telling a few stories as I told hm where the old shops used to be and what they've become. It was misting rain, but we didn't seem to notice. Walking and talking was all that mattered. Next, we got into my car and drove around for a while, then stopped for coffee. The old wit was still there as we joked with our waitress. Finally I dropped him at his hotel. We shook hands in goodbye, promising to not wait another 35 years to see each other. I drove away, thinking about how much I'd missed my friend. Life sometimes separates those you hold dearest to your heart, but there is joy in the meeting once more. Today I was thinking about what we said to each other, about dreams unfulfilled. I think my friend said it best: We've been through a ton of shit, but we're both still here... survivors. And that should make us feel good about life. Until next time, my brother, I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. So long... for now! ~
