I work for a cleaning company. We do all types of cleaning for all types of businesses. I am a supervisor, overlooking the work done at a three building facility (a factory) owned by a large corporation. Corporations have rules - lots and LOTS of rules. These rules come about from these corporations having been sued countless times, which I can understand. This is not my first experience dealing with a corporation. Years ago I worked for General Motors in one of their factories. The major difference between then and now is that the GM plant was a union shop, so if you violated a rule, you pretty much received a slap on the wrist. This place is non union, so if you break a rule you can be fired, or in my case, the company I work for can lose it's contract. So you comply. Whether you like it or not. Our service is vital now. Keeping places clean is definitely something necessary that benefits everyone. In their wisdom, this corporation has deemed to create a new rule. We now have to have our staff initial a calendar placed on the doors of the restrooms when we have finished cleaning the area. And, of course, I know have to walk around to each restroom and make sure that each place has been not only cleaned but initialed. It is our job to make sure each area has been cleaned. But to have these people initial these places as proof? I consider that to be an insult to our professionalism. Cleaning is what we do and we are proud of doing a good job every day. Corporations can be idiotic sometimes, in my humble opinion. ~

Saturday afternoon 'stay indoors' movies: A Jean Harlow double dip. Bombshell and Red Dust. Bombshell has witty dialogue and Red Dust is good drama. What did YOU do to pass the time? ?

My friends living on the west coast of Florida report that their beaches are jam packed with kids celebrating spring break, because the east coast beaches are closed. Incredibly moronic and selfish children! ![]()

With the Corona virus and the advice to 'Hunker Down', this song has become my new theme song: And since I'm single, this is my backup theme song: What else am I going to do alone? ![]()

So the President said Tuesday that he is going to send $1,000.00 to every citizen to bolster our flailing economy. The last time a President did this, I received $300.00. Must be inflation. No worries. I'll treat it as 'found money' and put it to good use. ![]()

We are being told to 'hunker down' for the immediate duration due to the Corona Virus. Seriously? I work afternoons and don't go to bars, movie theaters or dine out alone. My whole life is 'hunker down'. It seems I've been training for this moment all of my life. ~

On the average, I spend about 15 to 30 minutes on NN Monday through Friday. I work afternoons and my time is limited online during the work week. My time here is spent reading a few blogs, writing mine and looking at some naked ladies. I try to leave nice, friendly compliments - because of time restrictions, about five a day (on the average). Let's do some math: 5 compliments a day, times 7 days a week = 35 per week, or (on average) roughly 150 per month and 1,825 a year. This being a Leap Year, 1,830. How many take the time to thank me for these little compliments? So far his year? in two and one half months so far: 1. Generally, about 5 a year. I'm not complaining. I know there are restrictions of time and allotted messages people have to give. I just like to 'pay it forward' with happiness that I am given every day. And really now. For the amount of smiles I'm given on a daily basis, I think that's fair. ~

I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that the Coronavirus has everyone (except baby boomers) buying up all of the supply of toilet paper. WHY? It seems to me that a rational person would be buying food, since workplaces and schools are closing and travel restrictions are being set. SMH ~

For the first time since the 9/11 attacks in 2001, there are no sporting events. Sports junkies have to be in shock (think cold turkey) and networks are scrambling to find replacement programming. As I watched the local Indianapolis news at noon today, another staggering fact was presented: Not only are gate receipts gone, but the effect in loss of revenue for hotels and restaurants is in the millions. And that's just in Indianapolis alone. Nationwide, it will be in the billions. This pandemic is not only wrecking our health, but our economy and, with schools closing nationwide, our educational system. Folks, this is getting scary, but, with everyone starting to take this seriously, perhaps we can get a grip on the situation. Stay healthy, everyone! ~
