Things have slowed down around here.

I just peeped out of the spy hole in my door to investigate an odd noise.

Turns out it was a maintenance worker walking around with a bucket of paint and a paint brush, doing a little touch up on the trim around the doors.

At least he's working.

With the recent passing of legendary actor Sean Connery, a lot of t.v. stations have been rerunning his movies.

After he did all of those James Bond movies (and he is still my favorite Bond), he started to stretch as an actor.

This is one of my favorite movies he did, along with Michael Caine and directed by another legend, John Huston.

A nice surprise today:

Checked my latest paycheck today. We clock in/out at work from an app now and our paychecks show on the company website.

I knew it was time for the yearly Christmas bonus

BUT

I didn't expect the surprise of a pay raise, to boot.

I'm feeling pretty mellow right now.

I finally got my scanner on my printer working today.

Unfortunately, I've long since gotten rid of the old nuddies I took of old girlfriends and my ex wife.

Without knowing why, they have all felt an unknowing sense of relief today.

I drove over to one our two local Walmart's today.

Shopped and bought a couple of items

and

saw no one weird, or obese wearing yoga pants.

Is this the beginning of the end???

I've been dreaming frequently about being questioned by the police about a murder.

Who in real life could piss me off enough for me to contemplate my killing them?

Never mind - the list is too long.

Covid-19 vaccine is approved.

As the old Alka-Seltzer commercial used to say:

Oh, what a relief it is!

Now, if people will only try to stay safe until we can get our shots.

... the hard way.

Is it really insecurity? Or is it sometimes used to cover up something else?

My ex wife was extremely jealous... or so I thought.

She even went so far as to accuse me of sleeping with a poor little college girl trying to cross the road in the pouring rain, because I stopped traffic to let her cross the road.

Well, after three years of constant fighting on the subject, it finally dawned on me something that she had told me when we were dating:

That all of her girlfriends were married to jealous guys who were using jealousy as a cover for the fact that they were all sleeping around. I staked her out and followed her from work one night (when she was supposed to be working a double shift). Soon after I caught her in the act with one of her co-workers. The look on her face when she saw me looking at her having sex in the back of his car was priceless.

It was over soon after... after one more huge fight when she got home.

Every time I hear this old Elvis classic I am reminded of my gullibility and a costly lesson learned:

That's generally immediately after I've said or done something I shouldn't have.

Sometimes I think that instant karma should be my middle name.

If you take the time to watch the video, you'll see a piece of America in the year 1967.

It opens with a commercial. In 1967, most of t.v. was still being shown in black and white. My family didn't get their first color t.v. set until the following year.

The clothing and hair styles are the same as when I started high school in the fall of 1967. Three years later, when I graduated, we were all starting to wear bell bottoms and letting our hair grow long.
