I have had that happen to a few folks in my life and it is strange. The first was when I was a teenager and we are fairly sure it was 'mob' related. The second is recent and he is either incarcerated or unalive - I hope the best for him as he is basically a pretty good guy who just seems to stay in trouble. I wish you the best in finding your friend
