My parents grew up in the 30s & 40s.
They were raised that you didn't waste ANYthing.
So, when I bought too much bacon at the grocery,
my training has kicked in:
Biscuits & gravy (making the gravy with bacon grease).
Bacon & eggs.
Bacon, lettuce & tomato sandwiches.
If there's any bacon left over Monday,
bacon will be inserted into my lunch meat sandwiches for work.
I'm sure mom will be smiling down from Heaven.
