I'm getting ready to watch Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in 'A Star is Born'.

The newest version is now the fourth. I went to the movies to see the one with Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Striesand in 1976. The original was made in 1937, starring Janet Gaynor and Frederich March. Another was made in 1954, with Judy Garland and James Mason.

Now you know... a star has been born four times.

So we were indeed watching the 1954 version last night, but didn't realize it was an almost 3 hour movie. Made it to the intermission, will be watching the rest soon. It's a strange film because of the heavy editing, with scenes of black and white stills inserted here and there. But it is worth observing Judy Garland's acting, as this was a strong cinematic comeback for her, post-MGM. And my goodness, that voice!
